Camp Alturas & Non Faith Based Programs

All ages are welcome at our diverse range of Camp Alturas programs! Discover the perfect getaway without the hassle of hauling a camper or pitching a tent. Each camp offers a unique opportunity to bond, explore, and create lasting memories together. These programs take place at Luther Heights facilities, are put on by Luther Heights Staff, but are without faith programing. We believe camp is a place for all to connect to community and nature, regardless of a religious affiliation or spiritual connection.

4th - 12th grade

Camp Alturas

Camp Alturas is more than 4 days in the mountains — it’s a week of connection, challenge, and growth. Through wilderness exploration, team challenges, environmental stewardship, and daily reflection, campers develop resilience, responsibility, teamwork, and kindness. Grounded in science and inclusivity, Camp Alturas is a secular, adventure-focused experience designed for youth from diverse backgrounds, including nontraditional schooling programs.

Pride in the Pines

Pride in the Pines is a joyful, affirming family camp experience designed especially for queer parents and their kids. Set in the beauty of the Idaho mountains, families are invited to unplug, play, and connect — with nature and with one another — in a space where everyone is fully welcomed and affirmed.

Together, families will enjoy classic camp activities like hiking, canoeing, campfires, crafts, games, and time to relax by the lake. Although Luther Heights puts on many faith-based programs, this one will not have faith programming. Programming is intentionally inclusive and flexible, offering space for connection across ages, chosen family, and community, while honoring the unique rhythms of each family.

Pride in the Pines is about belonging, laughter, and shared adventure — a place where kids can be kids, parents can exhale, and families can experience the magic of camp surrounded by safety, affirmation, and joy.

Come as you are. Find your people. Make memories.
