Backpack Adventure
Make time to hit the trail with your gear on your back, your faith in your footsteps, and your companions surrounding you.
Who: Backpack trip is for youth entering 9th–12th grades.
When: Call Luther Heights to schedule this program for your group!
Schedule: The schedule varies based on your group’s goals, but a basic outline is listed below.
This is an “off–site” program, where the majority of your child’s experience will be away from the site of Luther Heights Bible Camp.
Sunday:
Registration is between 2:00pm–5:00pm. (Parents and guests are invited to stay for dinner at 6:00pm. Just let us know at registration!) As you meet your counselors and the rest of your trip mates, you’ll get your gear ready for your trip. Luther Heights supplies packs, sleeping pads, and other essentials for life on the trail. (You are welcome to bring your own.) You’ll spend the first night at Luther Heights, preparing for your week in the mountains. Worship and devotions round out your evening.
Monday–Friday:
You’ll be dropped off at a trailhead, either in the Whitecloud Mountains or the Sawtooth Mountains. As a group you will determine your goals. You can set up a base camp and focus on day hikes, move a short distance each day to a beautiful new site, peak several mountains, or make it your goal to hike fast and far! Whatever your group goals are, we will work with you to ensure a quality team building and experiential education experience.
Friday:
You’ll be picked up Friday morning so you have time to get back to camp, unpack, clean up, and have lunch before you head home.
Cost: See Program Costs page for more information.
