Entering 9th-12th grades
High Adventure Camp
Dates: July 8-13
Cost: $275.00
Week Schedule
Sunday:
Registration is between 2:00pm–5:00pm.
(Parents are invited to stay for dinner at 6:00pm. Just let us know at registration!)
Campers meet their counselor, get settled into the cabin, and play some get-to-know-you games while waiting for the rest of the campers to arrive. After dinner that evening, campers sing songs, tour camp, and are heartily welcomed to camp with an orientation and introductions to staff members.
Each evening campers will have time to enjoy canteen (the camp store) where they can enjoy snacks, priced at $0.75 per item. After canteen, at the close of the day, everyone will gather around the campfire for evening worship. Following worship campers and counselors head back to their cabins to reflect on their day and settle into the night with a devotion.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday:
Breakfast begins each morning at 8:00 a.m. followed by singing on the back deck of the main lodge. Worship follows breakfast and is held in the outdoor chapel, the meadow, or one of the many other beautiful spots around camp. Bible study follows worship and involves reading the Bible along with interactive activities, games and crafts to bring active learning into the experience.
An overnight campout, typically planned for Tuesday night, makes this week of camp great! Cabin groups get to help decide where they will get to campout for their overnight. Some groups want to hike a ways while others do not want to go too far from Luther Heights. Either way, there is something for everyone! Groups cook their dinner and their next morning’s breakfast out on the trails. This is an experience unlike any other that deepens bonds within cabin groups and with others.
Feeling nervous about the overnight? Do not worry. This is not an extreme hike and you are surrounded and supported by your cabin group and counselor in all of your endeavors. You will find it to be the “same” Luther Heights with an extra added adventure. Challenge yourself and your faith!
Campers have the opportunity to sign up for a full-day horseback ride with Mystic Saddle Ranch or full-day rafting trip with Sawtooth Adventure Company (both an extra $70.00).
The evenings of each day involves playing an all–camp game, snacks at canteen, and worship around the campfire.
Thursday:
Also known as “Beach Day” — Thursday is another action–packed day at camp. After breakfast and morning worship, cabin groups will dive into Bible study and then hit the trail to the beach at Alturas Lake for lunch and fun. The evening continues with a talent show and concludes with a special worship service followed by a game/dance night.
Friday:
Breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m. followed by Bible study and packing. Closing worship is right before lunch at 12:00 p.m. Campers will watch a video of their week following lunch. Parents are welcome to start arriving at this time to join us. It’s always nice to see the great fun that was had throughout the week. Following the video campers begin saying their good-byes.

Week Schedule
Sunday:
Registration is between 2:00pm–5:00pm.
(Parents are invited to stay for dinner at 6:00pm. Just let us know at registration!)
Campers meet their counselors and the rest of their trip mates. After everyone has arrived the group will get together and determine personal and group goals for the week and gather their gear. Luther Heights supplies packs, sleeping pads, and other essentials for life on the trail, but campers are always welcome to bring your own. The first night will conclude with worship around the campfire and nightly devotions. The first night will be spent at camp, preparing for the week in the mountains.
Monday–Friday:
Campers and counselors will be dropped off at a trailhead, either in the White Cloud Mountains or Sawtooth Mountains. As a group the decision will be made to set up “base camp” and focus on day hikes or hike a short distance each day to a beautiful new site, peak several mountains. Whatever your group goals are, Luther Heights will work with the group to ensure a quality team building and experiential education experience.
Friday:
The group will be picked up and brought back to Luther Heights. For the remainder of the morning will then be devoted to unpacking, cleaning up, and having lunch before heading home.
