Entering 4th-6th grades

Junior Camp

Dates: June 24-29, July 15-20, Aug 5-10
Cost: $275.00

Week Schedule

Sunday:

Registration is between 2:00pm–5:00pm.
(Parents are invited to stay for dinner at 6:00pm.  Just let us know at registration!)

Campers meet their counselor, get settled into the cabin, and play some get-to-know-you games while waiting for the rest of the campers to arrive.  After dinner that evening, campers sing songs, tour camp, and are heartily welcomed to camp with an orientation and introductions to staff members.

Each evening campers will have time to enjoy canteen (the camp store) where they can enjoy snacks, priced at $0.75 per item. After canteen, at the close of the day, everyone will gather around the campfire for evening worship.  Following worship campers and counselors head back to their cabins to reflect on their day and settle into the night with a devotion.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday:

Breakfast begins each morning at 8:00 a.m. followed by singing on the back deck of the main lodge.  Worship follows breakfast and is held in the outdoor chapel, the meadow, or one of the many other beautiful spots around camp.  Bible study follows worship and involves reading the Bible along with interactive activities, games and crafts to bring active learning into the experience.

Campers have the opportunity to sign up for a half-day horseback ride ($30.00).  Luther Heights has partnered with Mystic Saddle Ranch for the past few years. They are a safe and notable company. We provide the transportation to and from the ranch.  A staff person, typically a counselor, from Luther Heights will always accompany the youth on their ride.  Usually, these rides take place at the beginning of the week on Monday or Tuesday.

Each afternoon camper’s will have the opportunity to get involved in Special Interests (camp activities). Such activities include; hiking, tie-dying, making friendship bracelets, playing volleyball, biking, canoeing, and more. Each activity is led by a Luther Heights staff person.

The evenings of each day involves playing an all–camp game, snacks at canteen, and worship around the campfire.

Thursday:

Also known as “Beach Day” — is another action–packed day at camp.  After breakfast and morning worship, cabin groups will dive into Bible study and then hit the trail for the beach at Alturas Lake.  The hike is about 1.5 miles, and is worth it!  While at the beach campers get to enjoy a beach cookout, swimming, crafts, and building sandcastles, but most importantly they get to grow and build friendships in a Christian community. Thursday evenings also bring a talent show and a special worship experience.

Friday:

Breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m. followed by Bible study and packing.  Closing worship is right before lunch at 12:00 p.m. Campers will watch a video of their week following lunch. Parents are welcome to start arriving at this time to join us. It’s always nice to see the great fun that was had throughout the week.  Following the video campers begin saying their good-byes.
