Day Camp

Day Camps are designed in partnership with congregations to provide youth with a Christ-centered camp experience in their hometown!

For youth entering 1st – 6th grades Day Camp is weeks’ worth of fun and games paired with learning more about Jesus Christ in Bible study and through worship and son. It is also a great opportunity for adults, Junior High and Senior High youth to get involved with their congregation and get to know some Luther Heights staff.

A typical Day Camp schedule:

Saturday:

Staff from Luther Heights arrive in your town and stay with host families.

Sunday:

Staff members from Luther Heights attend worship services at your congregation and offer a skit, music, and/or other leadership during the service. “Day Camp Kick–off” typically follows the last service. This is a great way for our staff to get to know campers and parents, and also to get excited about the week ahead!

Kick-off:
12:30 p.m.             Congregational pot luck at a park/church yard
1:00 p.m.               Large group games
1:30 p.m.               Opening worship — parents are invited and encouraged to stay
                                After worship, while everyone is still gathered, do brief introductions of staff.
2:00 p.m.               Break into age groups for “get to know you” games and short Bible study.
                                Parents are invited to visit with the Luther Heights coordinator about the day camp program during this
                                small group time.
2:30 p.m.               Large group activity
2:45 p.m.               Closing worship
3:00 p.m.               Departure

Monday – Thursday Typical Day Camp Schedule (8:00am–3:00)

8:00 a.m.               Staff arrive at church or park (whichever has been designated)
9:00 a.m.               Campers Arrive
9:15 a.m.               Morning worship
9:30 a.m.               Bible study
                                When finished with Bible study, do small group games, etc…
10:15 a.m.             Large group game
10:30 a.m.             Snacks
10:40 a.m.             Large group game/nature activity
11:30 a.m.             Songs
11:45 a.m.             Lunch
                                Also time for stories, quiet time, games
12:15 p.m.             Small group craft time
1:30 p.m.               Snacks
                                Also a time for large group games
2:15 p.m.               Small group Bible study
                                Plan roundup, finish crafts, clean up
2:40 p.m.               Closing Worship
3:00 p.m.               Departure of campers
